About CREAM OF COCONUT
Roland Cream of Coconut is a thick, heavily sweetened coconut product, not to be confused with coconut cream. Sugar is the second ingredient after coconut meat juice, and the carbohydrate load reflects that. Emulsifiers (polyoxyethylene stearate, sorbitan monostearate), a thickener (carboxymethyl cellulose), and xanthan gum round out the formula. Fat is present but moderate. Use it in tiki cocktails like a Pina Colada or as a sweetened base for coconut desserts - it is not appropriate as a swap for unsweetened coconut cream in savory cooking.
Ingredients
COCONUT MEAT JUICE, SUGAR, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF POLYOXYETHYLENE STEARATE, SALT, SORBITAN MONOSTEARATE, CARBOXYMETHYL CELLULOSE, XANTHAN GUM, CITRIC ACID.
Calorie Breakdown
At 350 calories per 100 grams, CREAM OF COCONUT gets 0% of its calories from protein, 74% from carbohydrates, and 26% from fat. This is energy-dense, similar to nuts, oils, and concentrated foods.
