About ITALIAN BREAD
Roma's Bakery Italian Bread is made from enriched wheat flour, water, yeast, salt, and oleo. The formula is about as traditional as commercial Italian bread gets, though enriched flour means the bran and germ are stripped away and a handful of B vitamins are added back artificially. Oleo, a solid fat, adds a small richness and helps with shelf texture. Carbohydrates make up the bulk of the nutrition, with fiber and protein both modest. It slices cleanly and works well for sandwiches, dipping in oil, or toasting.
Ingredients
ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR MALTED BARLEY FLOUR, NIACIN, IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE, RIBOFLAVIN, FOLIC ACID), WATER, YEAST, SALT AND OLEO.
Calorie Breakdown
At 188 calories per 100 grams, ITALIAN BREAD gets 13% of its calories from protein, 73% from carbohydrates, and 30% from fat. This is moderate, similar to many lean proteins and whole grains.
