About BABY CARROTS & RANCH DIP
Marketside Baby Carrots and Ranch Dip is a refrigerated fresh snack product sold under Walmart's Marketside private-label brand, distributed by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. through its produce and fresh snack sections. The product combines fresh baby carrots treated with calcium chloride — a firming agent and natural mineral salt used to maintain crispness in pre-packaged vegetables — with a ranch-style dipping sauce. The ranch dip uses water and soybean oil as the first two ingredients, followed by sugar and maltodextrin. Egg yolks and vinegar are present for emulsification and flavor. Less than 2% of the formula includes salt, buttermilk powder, flavor enhancers disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate (nucleotide flavor enhancers that work synergistically with monosodium glutamate), dehydrated onion and garlic, natural flavors, torula yeast (a savory flavor agent), citric acid, cultured low fat milk, potassium sorbate as a preservative, xanthan gum, mustard flour, dehydrated parsley, and calcium disodium EDTA as a chelating preservative to protect flavor.
Nutritionally, this product contains 115 calories per 100 grams, with 1.28 grams of protein, 11.54 grams of carbohydrates, 7.69 grams of fat, and 2.6 grams of dietary fiber per 100 grams. Serving size is 78 grams. Allergens include soy (oil), eggs, milk (buttermilk), and mustard. The dip contains disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate, nucleotide additives derived from fish or other animal sources that may be of concern to strict vegetarians. The product is not suitable for vegan, dairy-free, or egg-free diets.
