About BLUEBERRY BLENDED LOWFAT YOGURT, BLUEBERRY
Meijer Blueberry Blended Lowfat Yogurt (USDA ID 1924302) is a later formulation of Meijer's standard blueberry lowfat yogurt, notable for its inclusion of five live and active probiotic cultures. The base is cultured pasteurized lowfat milk, with sugar and blueberries as the primary non-dairy ingredients. Water and modified food starch follow. Pectin and locust bean gum serve as stabilizers. Natural flavor, citric acid, and fruit and vegetable juice concentrate for color complete the minor ingredients. Calcium citrate and sodium citrate provide mineral fortification and buffering. Vitamin A palmitate and vitamin D3 are the standard fortification additions. Five live and active cultures are present: S. thermophilus, L. bulgaricus, L. acidophilus, L. paracasei, and L. rhamnosus.
Per 100 grams: 88 calories, 2.94g protein, 17.65g carbohydrates, 0.88g fat, and 0.6g dietary fiber. The minor fiber content may reflect the blueberry fruit contribution. The calorie density is low to moderate.
Allergens include dairy (lowfat milk). Not vegan. No wheat or other gluten sources are declared. The five-culture probiotic system is more comprehensive than the two-culture minimum for yogurt labeling and represents a differentiating characteristic from the Purple Cow variant (which has no culture count declaration). The use of locust bean gum as a secondary stabilizer alongside pectin is characteristic of this later formulation. No preservatives are listed, unlike the Purple Cow version. This is a standard blended-fruit lowfat yogurt in the Meijer private-label dairy case.
