About ITALIAN BLEND ALL NATURAL CHEESE
Kroger Italian Blend All Natural Cheese is a shredded five-cheese blend produced under The Kroger Co.'s flagship Kroger private brand, formulated for pizza, pasta, and Italian-inspired cooking. The blend combines low-moisture part-skim mozzarella (made with pasteurized part-skim milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes, and calcium chloride), smoke flavor provolone, Romano aged over 5 months, Parmesan aged over 10 months, and a Fontina-Asiago blend — all crafted from pasteurized milk, cheese culture, salt, and enzymes. The variety of aging levels contributes a complex flavor spectrum from mild, stretchy mozzarella to sharp, nutty Romano and Parmesan. Potato starch, corn starch, and dextrose are added to prevent caking. Natamycin, a naturally derived antifungal compound produced by soil bacteria, functions as a mold inhibitor.
All five cheeses are made from pasteurized milk, making dairy the sole allergen. No artificial colors, artificial flavors, or synthetic preservatives are present. Calcium chloride in the mozzarella component is a natural mineral salt used to support curd formation. At 321 calories per 100 g, with 25 g fat and 25 g protein, this is a high-protein, high-fat product consistent with full-fat Italian hard cheeses. Carbohydrates are minimal at 3.6 g. This blend melts well on pizza and pasta gratins and performs excellently in baked dishes, calzones, and casseroles.
