Private Selection Honey Oat Wide Pan Bread is an older formulation of the premium honey-oat sandwich bread from The Kroger Co.'s Private Selection brand. This version uses enriched wheat flour and malted barley flour as the base, sweetened with high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and honey — unlike the refined sugar formulation in the newer 1596966 variant. Rolled oats and oat bran provide the whole-grain oat character. Vital wheat gluten strengthens the structure. Secondary ingredients include soybean oil, soy flour, raisin juice concentrate, molasses, sodium stearoyl lactylate, vinegar, calcium propionate, ascorbic acid, and azodicarbonamide — a dough conditioner used for gluten oxidation that has been removed from many post-2014 reformulated bread products. Ammonium and calcium sulfate serve as dough strengtheners.
