About GRADE A WHOLE MILK

Mountain Dairy Grade A Whole Milk is a full-fat pasteurized cow's milk sold under The Kroger Co.'s Mountain Dairy regional dairy brand. Whole milk is standardized by FDA regulations to contain a minimum of 3.25 percent milkfat, and is the closest commercially available dairy milk to the natural composition of fresh cow's milk.

The ingredients are milk and vitamin D3. The absence of vitamin A palmitate distinguishes whole milk from reduced-fat variants — FDA does not require vitamin A fortification in whole milk because the natural milkfat retains sufficient vitamin A. Vitamin D3 fortification is standard for all grade A fluid milk products. No other additives, stabilizers, or preservatives are used.

A 240-milliliter serving provides approximately 149 calories (per 100 ml: 62 calories), 3.33 grams protein, 5 grams carbohydrates (lactose), and 3.33 grams fat. The fat profile of whole milk includes saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fatty acids, with conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) also present at nutritionally meaningful levels.

Allergens: dairy (milk). No wheat, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, or sesame. Not suitable for vegans or dairy-allergic individuals. Vitamin D3 is derived from lanolin. Whole milk offers superior fat-soluble vitamin bioavailability (vitamins A, D, E, K) and a richer flavor compared to reduced-fat variants, with research increasingly questioning the assumption that whole milk consumption necessarily increases cardiovascular risk compared to low-fat alternatives.

Ingredients

MILK, VITAMIN D3.
