About CHEF'S SALAD
Marketside Chef's Salad is a refrigerated prepared salad sold at Walmart deli counters under the Marketside fresh brand. It combines iceberg and romaine lettuce with turkey breast, ham with natural juices, grape tomatoes, cheddar cheese, carrots, and red cabbage, with a ranch dressing packet included.
This variant uses a cultured fat-free buttermilk ranch dressing built with soybean oil, eggs, salt, sugar, vinegar, and cultured dextrose as an antimicrobial agent, along with autolyzed yeast extract and corn syrup solids in small quantities. The cheddar cheese is colored with annatto extract and stabilized with powdered cellulose and natamycin. Both the turkey and ham use conventional sodium nitrite curing systems.
Per 100-gram serving, this product provides 110 calories, 5.00 grams of protein, 4.00 grams of carbohydrates, and 8.00 grams of fat with 1.0 gram of fiber. Allergens include milk and egg. This earlier-formulated version of the Marketside chef's salad uses a fat-free buttermilk base in the dressing rather than the full-fat buttermilk or canola oil formulations found in more recent Marketside salad dressing variants. Multiple Marketside chef salad USDA entries reflect the product's reformulations and repackagings over its retail history.
