Favorite Day Cupcake Decorating Kit is a seasonal or celebratory baked good from Target's Favorite Day dessert brand, which focuses on indulgent treats, confections, and celebration foods. This kit includes pre-baked mini cupcakes along with icing and decorative sprinkles, allowing consumers to finish and decorate the cupcakes at home. The cake component contains sugar, bleached enriched wheat flour, eggs, soybean and/or canola oil, modified corn starch, and whey — a typical commercial cake formulation.
The icing contains a notable combination of palm oil, high fructose corn syrup, titanium dioxide for white coloring, and artificial flavor. The sprinkles component contains shellac, a resin secreted by lac insects that is used as a confectionery glaze. Shellac is not vegan and may be a concern for strict vegans or vegetarians. Artificial colors Red 40, Blue 1, and Yellow 6 are present in the icing, and Red 40 and Blue 1 appear in the sprinkles as well.
