About SPECIAL COCOA SPREAD
Hashachar Ha'Ole's cocoa spread is built on sugar and partially hydrogenated palm oil, putting it in the same category as other chocolate spreads: mostly fat and sugar, with skimmed milk powder and low-fat cocoa rounding out the flavor. Soy lecithin emulsifies the mixture, and vanillin adds artificial vanilla notes. There is no fiber, and actual cocoa content is modest relative to the sugar and oil.
