About HOMESTYLE MEATBALLS
Kroger Homestyle Meatballs are frozen beef and pork meatballs sold under The Kroger Co.'s flagship Kroger brand, available at Kroger, King Soopers, Ralphs, and affiliated stores. The formulation blends beef and pork with breadcrumbs made from bleached wheat flour and partially hydrogenated soybean and/or cottonseed oils — indicating a legacy formulation that may contain residual trans fats, consistent with products formulated prior to the 2018 PHO GRAS removal deadline. Textured vegetable protein (soy protein concentrate with added vitamins and minerals) is incorporated alongside romano cheese, egg powder, skim milk powder, and whole egg powder. Seasonings include salt, sugar, spices, corn syrup solids, dehydrated onion, garlic powder, tomato powder, and sodium phosphates for moisture retention.
Per 85-gram serving (approximately five meatballs), the product provides approximately 260 calories, 12 grams of protein, 6 grams of carbohydrates, and 21 grams of fat. The fat content is relatively high due to the pork and beef blend combined with the oil-containing breadcrumbs.
Allergen note: contains wheat (breadcrumbs), soy (textured vegetable protein, soy protein concentrate), dairy (romano cheese, skim milk powder), and eggs (whole egg powder, egg white powder). The PHO presence in the breadcrumb component should be verified against current label versions. Not suitable for those with multiple food allergies. Suitable for pasta dishes, subs, and appetizer preparations.
