Kroger Cookies N' Cream Deluxe Churned Light Ice Cream is a reduced-fat frozen dairy dessert sold under the standard Kroger private label. Churned light ice cream is produced with a lower fat base than standard ice cream through a slow-churning process that incorporates more air at reduced fat levels, resulting in a lighter-textured product. The cookies n' cream variety adds chocolate sandwich cookie pieces to a vanilla-flavored base.
The ice cream base contains milk, sugar, corn syrup, cream, skim milk, buttermilk, high fructose corn syrup, and whey protein concentrate. Stabilizers and emulsifiers include propylene glycol monoesters, guar gum, mono- and diglycerides, cellulose gel, locust bean gum, cellulose gum, and carrageenan. Annatto extract provides color, and vitamin A palmitate is added. Natural and artificial flavor completes the base. The cookie pieces contain sugar, unbleached unenriched wheat flour, palm and palm kernel oil, alkalized cocoa, salt, sodium bicarbonate, soy lecithin, and natural flavor.
