Meijer Neapolitan Vanilla Flavored Strawberry and Chocolate Ice Cream is a classic three-flavor ice cream from Meijer, Inc., the Grand Rapids, Michigan Midwest supercenter. The product is made from milkfat and nonfat milk, sugar, corn syrup, and whey, with the chocolate stripe using alkalized cocoa, and the strawberry stripe featuring real strawberries and natural and artificial flavor. Annatto provides natural warm tinting and Red 40 is used for the strawberry's pink color.
Red 40 is a synthetic petroleum-derived dye present in the strawberry component. The stabilizer package includes mono and diglycerides, cellulose gum, guar gum, carrageenan, and locust bean gum — standard for commercially produced ice cream to maintain texture. No HFCS is listed in this formulation, distinguishing it from other Meijer neapolitan variants. Actual strawberries are used rather than just juice concentrate. Dairy is present throughout via milk, whey, and milkfat.
