About FRUITY SPARKLES SYRUP, FRUITY
Great Value Fruity Sparkles Syrup (alternate formulation) is a variant of the Great Value sparkle syrup line with a slightly modified ingredient profile compared to the companion version. The primary change is the addition of canola and/or soybean oil, with polysorbate 60 as an emulsifier — giving this formulation a slightly richer mouthfeel. The HFCS and corn syrup base remains the same. Natural flavor, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, cellulose gum, malic acid, vanilla extract, and citric acid are similarly used. Mica-based pearlescent pigment and titanium dioxide again deliver the shimmer effect, with Red 40 and Blue 1 for color.
Because this variant contains soybean oil, individuals with soy allergies should be aware of its presence, though refined soybean oil is generally considered low-allergen risk for most soy-allergic individuals. Polysorbate 60 is a common food emulsifier used to blend oil and water phases. No wheat, dairy, eggs, or nut allergens are declared. The titanium dioxide concern noted for the companion version applies equally here.
At 400 calories per 100 mL and 96.67 grams of carbohydrates, this formulation is marginally lower in carbohydrate density than the companion version due to the small fat contribution from the oils. There is no protein or fiber. Both Great Value Fruity Sparkles variants are essentially sugar syrups with visual novelty, best used as a fun topping rather than a nutritional ingredient. Available at Walmart in standard bottle sizes, typically alongside maple-flavored and standard pancake syrups.
