Meijer Applause Crackers are a sweet, butter-style thin cracker sold under the Meijer private label at Meijer supercenter stores in the Midwest. Applause crackers are modeled after the popular Golden Snack Cracker or club cracker format: a lightly sweetened, crisp, tender cracker with a rich flavor derived from a substantial fat content.
Enriched flour (wheat flour with niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid) is the primary ingredient. Vegetable oil (canola and/or soybean and/or palm oil, stabilized with TBHQ and citric acid) is the fat component. Sugar follows. At 2% or less: salt, leavening (baking soda and/or calcium phosphate), high fructose corn syrup, natural flavor, sodium sulfite (a processing preservative), and soy lecithin. TBHQ is a synthetic antioxidant preservative. High fructose corn syrup supplements sugar as a sweetener.
