Darigold is a Pacific Northwest-based farmer-owned cooperative producing a full range of dairy products from milk sourced from regional farms. This product combines fat removal with lactose reduction in a single product for consumers who need both modifications simultaneously — those managing both fat intake and lactose sensitivity.

Lactose intolerance affects a significant portion of the global adult population and a meaningful minority of Americans, stemming from reduced production of the lactase enzyme in the small intestine after childhood. The lactase enzyme added to this milk pre-digests the lactose before consumption, so the breakdown occurs in the carton rather than in the digestive tract, eliminating the digestive discomfort associated with lactose intolerance.
