Similac Soy Isomil is a soy-based infant formula intended for babies who cannot tolerate milk protein or lactose at all. Corn syrup solids and sugar make up the bulk of the carbohydrates, and soy protein isolate replaces dairy-derived protein. The fat blend comes from high oleic safflower, soy, and coconut oils. Like all infant formulas it is fortified to meet complete nutritional needs, though pediatricians typically recommend trying milk-based options first before moving to soy.
