A colored sugar sprinkle decoration from Wilton, these primary-color sugar crystals are made from sugar, confectioners' glaze (shellac), FD&C dyes (Yellow 5, Red 40, Blue 1), and carnauba wax. Per 100g they deliver 375 calories and 100g carbohydrates with no protein or fat—essentially pure colored sugar. Confectioners' glaze is derived from shellac (insect-secreted resin), making these not suitable for strict vegans. Carnauba wax provides the glossy finish on the sugar granules. Four FD&C artificial dyes are used. Used exclusively as a decorative topping for cakes, cookies, and desserts in very small quantities. Gluten-free and dairy-free by ingredients.
