About PEANUT BRITTLE
Weis Quality Peanut Brittle is a traditional hard candy confection made from corn syrup, sugar, peanuts, butter, and salt with bicarbonate of soda. A 40g serving provides 200 calories, 2.5g of protein, 35g of carbohydrates, and 5g of fat. The bicarbonate of soda is added during cooking to aerate the hot sugar mixture as it sets, creating the brittle's characteristic light, slightly porous texture. Butter adds richness and helps with the caramelization of the sugar. The result is a thin, glassy candy with whole peanuts throughout.
