Meijer TruePlus Glucose Tablets Raspberry are a medically intended fast-acting glucose product from Meijer's TruePlus diabetes care line, formulated to rapidly correct hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in people with diabetes. The active ingredient is dextrose (D-glucose), the direct monosaccharide form of blood sugar and the fastest-absorbed carbohydrate source. Maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, citric acid, and magnesium stearate are standard pharmaceutical tablet excipients. Natural and artificial raspberry flavor and FD&C Red #40 provide the flavor and pink color.
At 375 calories per 100 grams with 100 g carbohydrates entirely as dextrose, the nutritional profile is that of pure glucose in tablet form. Each 4 g tablet provides approximately 3.75 g of fast-acting glucose. Standard clinical guidance recommends 15 grams of fast-acting glucose (about 4 tablets) for treatment of mild hypoglycemia, with blood sugar recheck at 15 minutes.
