About MARSHMALLOWS
Standard marshmallows from Shurfine, made from corn syrup, sugar, water, modified corn starch, and gelatin, with natural and artificial flavor and Blue 1 dye to achieve the classic white-tinted appearance. Tetrasodium pyrophosphate is used as a food additive in the formulation. Per 100 g the product provides 300 kcal, 3.3 g protein from gelatin, and 76.7 g carbohydrates with no fat or fiber. The gelatin base makes these unsuitable for vegetarians and vegans. A widely used confectionery ingredient for s'mores, hot cocoa topping, rice crispy treats, and baking applications.
