About MACARONI PRODUCT, ITALIAN ZITI
Private Selection Italian Ziti is a premium dried pasta from Kroger's Private Selection line, made exclusively from durum wheat semolina in the traditional Italian style. Ziti — from the Italian word meaning "bridegrooms" — is a long, smooth-cut tubular pasta historically associated with Neapolitan wedding feasts and Southern Italian cuisine. Most commercially available ziti is cut into shorter lengths for practical packaging and cooking purposes.
Ziti's smooth surface and medium bore make it ideal for baked pasta dishes, particularly the classic American-Italian baked ziti with tomato sauce and melted cheese. It also works well with light cream sauces, tuna-based preparations, and broccoli-garlic combinations. Like other Private Selection imported semolina pastas, this product contains no enrichment vitamins, preservatives, eggs, or additives.
Nutritionally identical to the other Private Selection semolina pastas in this line: 357 calories per 100 grams with 12.5 grams of protein, 73.21 grams of carbohydrates, 0.89 grams of fat, and 3.6 grams of fiber (56 gram dry serving). The sole allergen is wheat. Free of dairy, eggs, soy, and all other common allergens. Suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone without wheat/gluten restrictions. The consistent nutritional profile across this pasta line reflects the uniform nature of quality durum semolina as a base ingredient.
