About JUICE, GRAPE

Kroger Grape Juice is a reconstituted fruit juice sold under The Kroger Co.'s Kroger private brand, made by reconstituting filtered water with grape juice concentrate and adding ascorbic acid for vitamin C fortification and color/flavor stability. The three-ingredient formula — water, grape juice concentrate, and ascorbic acid — mirrors the clean simplicity of the Kroger Apple Juice product, with no added sugars, artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, artificial flavors, or preservatives. The deep purple-burgundy color is derived entirely from the natural anthocyanin pigments in the Concord or similar grape varieties used in the concentrate.

This product differs from grape juice cocktail by its absence of added sweeteners and acidulants — it relies entirely on the natural fruit sugar and acidity of the grape juice concentrate. It is free from all major allergens. At 71 calories per 100 ml and 16.7 g carbohydrates from natural grape sugars, grape juice is naturally sweeter and higher in calorie density than apple or white grape juice, due to the higher natural sugar content of Concord-type grapes. A very small amount of protein (0.4 g) is present, consistent with trace amino acids naturally found in grape juice. Fiber is absent from the clarified juice. Kroger Grape Juice suits everyday household drinking, mixing in smoothies, and as a non-alcoholic alternative to wine in cooking.
