About GLITTER GELS
Great Value Glitter Gels (this variant) are a baking decoration product from Walmart's Great Value brand. FD&C Red 3 (erythrosine) is a synthetic dye that the FDA finalized a ban on in January 2025, with a compliance deadline of January 2027 for most food manufacturers. Its presence in this product is a notable flag for consumers and retailers as that compliance date approaches. Titanium dioxide is approved in the US but banned in the EU as a food additive.
