ReliOn Fruit Punch Glucose Gel is another variation in Walmart's ReliOn diabetes management product line, formulated to deliver fast-acting carbohydrates for blood sugar correction. Its active ingredient is dextrose (D-glucose) supported by maltodextrin, both rapidly absorbed sugars. The gel texture is achieved through xanthan gum, and the formula includes glycerin for mouthfeel and stability. Citric acid and natural and artificial fruit punch flavor balance the sweetness, while acesulfame potassium adds additional sweetness without additional calories.
Preservatives used are potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate. Red 40 provides the fruit punch color. At 250 calories per 100 grams and 62.5 grams of carbohydrates per 100g, the caloric density is high due to the concentrated sugar content.
