Roundy's Beef Bouillon Cubes are almost entirely salt, sugar, and flavor enhancers, with a very small amount of actual beef fat and dehydrated cooked beef. Monosodium glutamate, hydrolyzed soy protein, disodium inosinate, and disodium guanylate work together to push the savory beef character. Sodium is extremely high per cube, and there's essentially no protein, fiber, or fat of nutritional significance. These are used by the fraction to season soups, stews, and braises, not as a food in themselves. Useful pantry tool, but unsuitable as a sodium-free broth substitute.
